CANTARE takes a musical journey to our southern neighbors, presenting concerts featuring some of the choral music of Latin America. For centuries, gifted composers have provided choral works for churches, schools and communities in Spanish-speaking nations and communities. As you would expect, many of these works are great treasures of the repertoire! Ramirez: Misa Criolla (with guitar and percussion); Guastavinos: Indianas; Franco: Magnificat

This side the veil, CANTARE sings of death and the life hereafter. Composers have sought to express this rite of passage from the life on earth we know. Music for these concerts is rich and diverse – exploring what lies beyond and offering the listener a place of comforting peace, solace and reflection. Concert repertoire includes: Bach's motet, Komm Jesu Komm; Rheinberger's Cantus Missa in E flat for double choir; Daniel Gawthrop's Sing me to heaven; Samuel Barber's Agnus Dei (arr. from the Adagio for Strings); John Corgiliano's Fern Hill; Hubert Parry's Never Weather-Beaten Sail; and Spirituals by Anders Paulsson, and William Dawson.
